Abstract:  To improve the utilization of wind power in power grid with high penetration of renewable sources, this paper studies wind-hydrogen power system, constructs a mixed integer programming model with considering the randomness of wind power output, and proposes the new mode of wind power absorption on the spot. The model takes the maximum revenue of the wind-hydrogen power system as target and takes into account the following performance of the combined output of wind farm and hydrogen energy storage system. Combining with the actual design example, we use the simulation of the stand-alone operation of wind farm to verify the effectiveness of hydrogen energy storage system, where revenue increases by 27%. And we test the influence of electrolyzers and fuel cells capacity on the system.

Key words:  wind farm, hydrogen production from wind power, fuel cell, combined operation optimization
