以太无源光网络（ethernet passive optical network，EPON）同时具备无源光网络（passive optical network，PON）和以太网的优点，因其具有高带宽、低成本、易使用、易升级的优良特性而成为光接入网的最佳选择。基于EPON系统的组成、技术特性及组网优势，分析了EPON技术在配电网自动化通信网络中的可行性，提出了EPON在配电自动化通信网中的应用方案。

EPON（ethernet passive optical network）being the best choice for optical access network,has both advantages of PON(passive optical network) and ethernet,with high bandwidth,low cost,convenient operation and easy upgrade. Based on the composition,technical characteristic and network advantage of EPON,the feasibility and application scheme of EPON are analyzed in communication network of power distribution automation.
