Homogeneous Flow Model and Dynamic Simulation of Nuclear Steam Generator

Abstract:

 

In order to study the hydrodynamic characteristics of nuclear steam generator, the real-time dynamic simulation was carried out on the steam generator and the heat transfer characteristics of its internal working fluid was analyzed in detail. According to reasonable assumptions, steam generator was divided into different control volumes based on its thermal hydraulic process. The one-dimensional homogeneous flow dynamic mathematical model of steam generator was established based on the lumped-parameter method. The steam generator was simulated for steady and dynamic station at different conditions using Simulink. The maximum error between steady simulation results and the practical parameters was 3.2%. The dynamic simulation results well predicted the dynamic characteristics of coolant outlet temperature and outlet steam quality during load step-down from 100% drop to 70% and coolant temperature step-down at 10%. The calculated results are consistent with the actual operating data, which indicates the correctness of the mathematical model and simulation method, and it could provide theoretical guidance for the actual operation of steam generator.
