Abstract:

In order to study the properties of the unidirectional glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP), this paper prepared two kinds of specimens with different forming processes for tensile strength testing. In this experiment, the ultimate strength of the GFRP material was measured and the impact of forming process was studied. Then, the prediction model for the tensile strength of traditional unidirectional fiber composite was improved by using a normal distribution to describe longitudinal tensile strength. The predictions of the model are in good agreement with the actual response obtained by the experiment.
