Design and Implementation of Valve Control System in ±660 kV HVDC Power Transmission Project

Abstract:

As the interface device between the control-protection system of DC transmission and converter valve, valve control system plays an important part in the reliability of HVDC system. So the reliability improvement of valve control system is the first purpose in the system design. Based on the introduction of the composition structure and basic function of H400 valve control system, the unique serial communication mode with high reliability in this system was introduced in detail, as well as its realization way and characteristics. This communication mode has been successfully applied in Ningdong-Shandong ±660 kV DC transmission project, which has achieved good results.
