Abstract:

According to the problem of system frequency instability caused by large-scale intermittent renewable energy, electrical vehicle (EV) was used as valid demand response (DR) resource to provide ancillary load frequency control (LFC) service for power system. On the basis of the analysis on user’s behavior characteristics in ancillary LFC service impacted by electricity price, a dynamic LFC strategy with using variable participation factor was proposed for EVs, which could effectively evaluate the response ability of EVs in system frequency service under RTP (real-time pricing). The simulation results show that under RTP, the LFC strategy of EV based on variable participation factor can provide dynamic ancillary frequency modulation service for power system with using the charging and discharging characteristics of EV load, and effectively support the dynamic frequency stability of power system.
