Allocation Model and Selection Principle of Relay Protection for Distribution Network

Abstract:

 

 To improve the reliability of distribution network, the key technologies of relay protection coordination planning design for distribution systems were investigated. Four modes of relay protection were proposed, such as the only time Delay Full Coordination mode (DFC), the only time Delay Part Coordination mode (DPC), the only three Section Current Protection Coordination mode (SCC) and the Hybrid Coordination mode of three Section current protection and time Delay (HSD). The basic principles of the four relay protection coordination modes were described and their characteristics were compared. Then, the selection principles of the coordination modes of relay protection were suggested, which was analyzed through examples. The results show that the proposed multilevel protection coordination modes and the selection method are feasible.
