Abstract:

Double bundle terminal connector has been widely used in substations, whose short-circuit current tolerance capability is not only relevant to the material quality, but also to the structural strength. Because the short-circuit current tolerance ability was not taken into adequate consideration during the design and manufacture of terminal connector, the double bundle terminal connector would deform or fracture due to the lack of structural strength under large short-circuit current shock, which may cause power grid failure. In order to solve this problem, the model has been built for the structure stress, so as to analyze the stress carried out on compression-type double bundle terminal connector under electrodynamic force caused by short-circuit current. The requirements and methods were suggested for checking short-circuit current tolerance capability from the aspects of structural strength during the design and manufacture of terminal connector.
