Abstract: The development of distributed photovoltaic in China is rapid in recent years, which brings great challenges to the operation of distribution network. Due to the randomness, fluctuation and uncertainty of the distributed photovoltaic, the storage system is required to supply flexible adjustment ability to meet the need of safe and reliable operation of distribution network. Therefore, it is meaningful to research the storage system capacity evaluation for the distributed photovoltaic in distribution network. This paper establishes the distribution network operation simulation model with considering the influence of the integrated distributed photovoltaic; and adopts the scenario generation technique and the ordinal optimization method to simulate the the operation situation of distributed photovoltaic with different storage system capacity schemes, in order to obtain the optimal capacity of energy storage system for distribution network. The results show that fast and efficient solution can be achieved by using ordinal optimization method, which can obtain the capacity allocation scheme of energy storage system to meet the requirements of distribution network operation.
