Impact  of Energy Internet on Power Demand Side Management Evolution

Abstract:  Ministry of Industry and Information Technology publishes “Industrial Power Demand Side Management Major Project Action Plan (2016-2020)”, the goal of which is to promote the efficient utilization of electricity by industry and enterprise in accordance with principles of science, safety, economy, smartness, and to produce more valuable goods by consuming less amount of power. Accordingly, the target of this paper is to analyze the impact and consequences of Energy Internet on power demand side management. First, this paper reviews the basic technological framework of power demand side management. Second, this paper introduces a multi-layer structure of Energy Internet: physics, data, and application layers with a focus on salient characteristics and the impact on power demand side management. Last, this paper proposes a technological system for implementing power demand side management at industrial parks in sync with the spirit of Energy Internet.
