Abstract:

ABSTRACT:  Proper capacity of energy storage for wind farm can reduce abandoned wind power and improve economic benefit. However, due to the expensive cost of energy storage and the defect of compensation mechanism in the present situation, the application of energy storage is restricted. Therefore, configuring the capacity of energy storage becomes a current research focus. Based on the actual demand of system load, this paper determines the feasible operation region of wind power. Considering the benefit of energy storage and the effect of life attenuation comprehensively, a energy storage capacity configuration method is proposed for matching the feasible operation region of wind power to maximize the net benefit of energy storage within the planning year. The feasibility of the method is verified by example. The results show that the proposed method can greatly improve the utilization rate and economic benefit of the energy storage system.
