Abstract

Wearing damage of bearing shell and journal has frequently occurred in recent years during turbine starting-up in several newly built power plants, which has caused serious impacts on the power plants’ safe operation and economic benefits. This paper introduces the wearing damage of the bearing shell and journal occurring during the first starting up of a power plant’s the 1 000 MW turbine, analyzes the causes and proposes some treatment and preventive measures.
