Experimental Study of Horizontal Bearing Capacity of Fine Rock Concrete Micropiles

Abstract

The horizontal bearing capacity of fine rock concrete micropiles is studied by field test. It is shown that the horizontal design bearing capacity of micropile foundation should be calculated by horizontal allowable displacement. Based on the test results, the design method of the horizontal bearing capacity is investigated in single micropile and pile groups. If the design parameters are reasonably chosen, the horizontal bearing capacity of micropile foundation could be preliminarily designed by the provided method.
