Transportation of Heavy Elements for UHV Steel Tube Tower in River Network Area

Abstract: The design of double-circuit transmission lines of steel tube tower was used in the 1 000 kV UHV AC transmission line from Huainan to Shanghai. The transportation of steel tube tower’s heavy elements had some difficulties in the river network area. This paper introduced the transportation scheme of using gasbag and land boat, which was feasible for the steel tube tower’s heavy elements in the river network area. The development of outfitting tools for this transportation scheme was investigated, as well as the field tests.
