Abstract: Based on the current anti-overturning studies for other structures, this paper discussed the anti-overturning formula for narrow-base towers, which was derived with method of limit equilibrium analysis. The comparative analysis between anti-overturning formula and finite element simulation were studied. The results show that the anti-overturning bending moment obtained from the formula is accord with the actual working condition, and the checking and correction formula can provide references for the engineering design.
