Optimization Scheme of the Lightning Protection Design for Chlorination Station in Nuclear Power Plant

Abstract: The most important factor considered in the lightening protection design of chlorination stations in nuclear power plants is the safety. Taking a 2×1 000 MW nuclear power plant as an example this paper proposed an optimized lightening protection design scheme for the chlorination stations in nuclear power plants according to hydrogen generation station design standards and experience from similar nuclear power plants that had been already in operation. The designs of lightening rod, grounding system and lightning protection induction were all included in this scheme, which emphasized on the safety and reliability as well as considering the economic rationality, in order to provide a reference for similar projects.
