Abstract:

The hardware for valve hall in HVDC projects is designed specifically according to the types of main equipments and layout schemes for valve halls. For the valve hall hardware, the current-carrying between valve hall hardware and Yy/Yd connection hardware in converter transformer is complex: the small design current for hardware will lead to the partial overheat of hardware, while the large design current margin for hardware will lead to the easy collision of flexible stranded conductor and the larger load of hardware. At present, only a little valve hall hardware with low voltage and small current in HVDC projects achieves localization. The rated current of HVDC project planning becomes increasingly large, but the size of grading shield outside the hardware is often limited, which leaves small space for the hardware. Therefore, the conductor current of each part in the layout schemes was analyzed based on the types of main equipments and layout schemes for valve hall, as well as the design current of each part of hardware was studied combined with the typical connection of hardware, which could have a good guiding significance to the current-carrying optimization design of valve hall hardware in subsequent DC projects.
